RECEIVING ASSOCIATE

General Job Description

The Receiving Associate is responsible for checking in and reconciling all incoming products to the company. They are responsible for making sure TeamWorld receives what we ordered and that the items are in good shape. The Receiver counts, measures, and/or weighs articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or storage receipts.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helping with unloading and sorting incoming products.

  • Opening boxes and pulling out packing slip to review.

  • Count out products and compare purchase orders with invoices and packing slips to verify accuracy of product received, including shortages or damaged product.

  • Receive and sign for deliveries.

  • Maintain records of orders, delivery details, etc.

  • Examines product for defects.

  • Process returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items.

  • Organize and store received items in appropriate areas.

  • Update inventory with received items.

  • Records factors causing goods to be returned.

  • Complete product check in process in a timely manner.

  • Aid in maintaining overall inventory integrity and product throughput by adherence to approved methods and procedures.

  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate and identify opportunities and ideas to the supervisory and management staff.

  • Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.

Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:

    • High School diploma or GED.

  • Experience:

    • Two to three years of experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse work preferred.

    • Customer service experience is preferred but not required.

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.

  • Must be able to multitask.

  • Must be able to process alphanumerical data accurately.

  • Must be conscientious and have a high level of attention to detail.

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Able to work overtime as needed to ensure on time delivery.

  • Ability to work independently or as a team.

  • Basic computer skills, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Works with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to learn new programs.

  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Ability to be on your feet 90% of the day.
