TEXTILE SCREEN PRINTER

General Job Description

The screen printer is responsible for ensuring all jobs are produced efficiently and with the highest level of quality achievable. They must work with their team to effectively set up and tear down every job efficiently. The screen printer aligns every screen to achieve a print quality that meets the department’s standards and is required to adjust press settings and change out equipment/tools to produce prints that match approved artwork.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the job schedule that is provided.

  • Communicate with Assistant Press Operator to streamline the upcoming workload and maximize efficiency.

  • Add/remove screens, squeegees, flood bars, and inks to press heads.

  • Spot check substrates during every run to guarantee quality standards are met and maintained throughout the job.

  • Make necessary adjustments before and during a run to manage quality.

  • Document set up and run times to track metrics and seek improvements.

  • Ensure all jobs are done in a safe manner and completed on time.

  • Review paperwork with team for clarification and accuracy.

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.

  • Troubleshoot issues on and off press to remain efficient and consistent.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mix inks according to a formula and properly store them for future use.

  • Help other production departments meet deadlines.

  • Cross train throughout all production departments to expand job knowledge.

  • Train others on this position’s duties and responsibilities.

  • Fold, bag, label, and package orders according to department standards.

  • Clean various types of tools, equipment, and machinery

Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience:

    • Experience or knowledge of automatic press preferred but not required.

  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Reading comprehension.

  • Ability to work independently and with others.

  • Strong attention to detail and focused on quality.

  • Able to work overtime as needed to ensure on time delivery.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
